Program Description

The Princeton Junior Tigers (PJT) are a USA Hockey Tier II travel hockey program (AA, A, and B) based in Central New Jersey and overseen by the Lawrence Princeton Nassau Hockey Association (LPNHA).

PJT provides competitive youth travel hockey for players ages 6U through 18U, with a focus on skill development, teamwork, and a positive competitive environment. Our teams compete against top programs throughout the region while maintaining a strong commitment to player development.

The Princeton Junior Tigers serve families from Princeton, Lawrenceville, Pennington, Hopewell, West Windsor, Plainsboro, Montgomery, and surrounding Central New Jersey communities looking for competitive travel hockey opportunities.

Princeton Junior Tigers teams are members of the Atlantic Amateur Hockey Association (AAHA) and compete in several regional leagues, including:

• New Jersey Youth Hockey League (NJYHL)

• Delaware Valley Hockey League (DVHL)

• Mid Atlantic Women’s Hockey Association (MAWHA)

• Eastern Junior Elite Prospects League (EJEPL)

The program offers development opportunities beginning with half-ice mite hockey (6U–8U) and continues through full-season travel teams up to 18U.

6U / 8U Mite Travel

Our mite program introduces young players to competitive travel hockey while following USA Hockey’s American Development Model (ADM).

• Half-ice games designed for age-appropriate development

• USA Hockey ADM-compliant structure

• 2 practices per week

• 2 games per week

• Regular player evaluations to ensure proper team placement as players rapidly develop at this age

• 2018 birth-year players may transition to Full-Ice Mites during the second half of the season

10U / 12U / 14U Travel Teams & 10U / 12U / 14U Girls Travel Teams

At the 10U, 12U, and 14U levels, players build advanced skills while competing against strong regional opponents.

• 2 practices per week

• 2 league games per week

• 2 tournaments per season

• Volunteer coaching staff at the 10U and 12U levels

• Paid coaching staff at the 14U level

• Dedicated paid goalie coaching

• Teams offered at the AA, A, and B levels

16U / 18U Travel Hockey

The Princeton Junior Tigers 16U and 18U teams are designed to support players balancing high school hockey, academics, and travel competition.

• Short-season teams designed to complement high school hockey schedules

• Condensed competitive schedule

• Optional extended season based on player participation

• Paid player and goalie coaching
